Process of Double Winch Pulling

Step 1: Set the Strap Around the Tree

First of all, set the strap around the tree and hold it better. You can use other types of recovery wire or ropes.

Connect the two sides with a shackle and tighten that up so that it can hold the snatch box properly.

Step 2: Set the Snatch Block

Now grab your winch line and wrap it, then spool out the winch and bring it over the tree. Adding the winch is done. Pulling does not need to use a motor, you can do it with the free spool. Check all the lines to make sure the winch will work fine.

After making the winch line, open the snatch block. Since you are going to doubling, the line will go finish pretty quick, especially when you need the winch to a remote spot. Use a winch dumper when you are pulling.  If you do not have it, you can use a sleeping bag instead of it. Do not keep the lines on the ground. Otherwise, any obstacles may tear the line.

How to Change the Pulling Direction

Because this straight-line increase the pulling efficiency and minimize the damage of rope. Snatch block helps to change the pulling direction, whether you are working at a 90-degree angle or more.

Double Line Rigging Technique

The more layers of wire rope you use, the more pulling power will decrease. So the snatch block will increase the strength. Feed the winch hook by wire rope in enough quantity.

Run the wire through the hook and snatch block. After disengaging the clutch, your snatch block can pull enough cable to the anchor point. The anchor point should be appropriately secured. Do not overtighten the shackle there.

Triple Line Rigging Technique

The triple line techniques are the same as the double line. Just you have to keep a 90-degree angle between the winch and wire to the anchor point and snatch block.

Secure the rope properly. Inspect all the connections and remove any debris from the area for better results.

How do you Increase the Speed of Winch?

If you want to increase the speed of winch, you may surely lose the pulling power. Although you can replace the winch with a larger one which has a planetary gear set in it. Avoid using off brand winches which tend to be slower. Hydraulic winches are pretty quick. But the pressure should be right in both ways. And you can not use them in small capacities Also you have to maintain the balance between power & cable speed.  Wrap the spool full of cable. If the diameter is big, you can wrap more cable in it.

2 speed winch is also better for pulling. Test your winch if it works better having the engine off and on.

Maintenance

• Inspect the wire before and after the operation. If the wires are kinked or frayed, replace them with new ones.
• Inspect the winch hook or hook pins if there are any damages.
• Keep away the winch, wire, and remote control from any type of contaminants. Clean all the debris and check all the equipment properly before store it.
• Do not use a winch for a long time, it will affect the car battery. Before winching, check all the cables and nut properly.
