Replacing the shocks on a jeep wrangler is a simple task requiring essential hand tools. The shocks need to be replaced when you notice the warning sign. It can be worn out anytime, so you should know how to change shocks in your jeep.

Replacing the Front Shock
Step 1: Remove the Inner Fender
The jeep wrangler has an inner fender line at the front side that you must remove. Use a drill bit to remove all the shock bolts and shock bushing from the fender and take off the liner. You can also install the extra bracket on the side.
Step 2: Remove the Upper Bolt of the Shock
After removing the fender, you will see the shock. You do not have to lift your jeep to change the shock. The upper bottom of the suspension shock has a 14mm nut, and the bottom nut is 18mm. Lose the upper nut with a 7 mm wrench by holding the top and turning the bottom.
Use the ratchet wrench to twist the bolt, and it will start loosening. In the end, take off the top nut with your hand. Also, take out the top rubber grommet and top washer.
Step 3: Remove the Bottom Bolt
If the new shock does not come with nuts and bolts, keep the old nut and bolts in a safe place. Use ½ inch drive socket to remove the bottom nut.
The bottom nut is slightly tightened, then the top nutso after removing the nut, tap the bolt a little to remove it.

Step 4: Take Off the Shock
Hold the shock with your hand and gently slide it to take off.
Step 5: Install the New Shock
The new shocks come with a rubber grommet, washer, nuts, and bolts(optional). Put all those together on the new shock, then put the boot on it. Now put it back at the bottom of the shock center and slide it into there. Put the bolt into the eye of the shock and put the nut back on the other side.
Now go to the top to see if the grommet is set on the hole correctly. The bushing should match with the lower one for the proper lifting of the wrangler.
Put the retainer washer on the top, then put the bolt on it. Twist the bolt with your finger to attach it properly. Check the boots and push them back up on the washer, and your installation is finished.

Step 1: Assemble the Rear Shock
The new rear shock comes with rubber bushing, so put the shock sleeve into the bottom and slide the adaptor at the top. Check out the shock sleeve carefully.

Now put the boot on the shock and fit it into the flat disc on the top. Now zip ties the boot with the shock. Now your shock is easy to install.

Take a new shock from a batch of shocks made by renowned shock manufacturers and put it up and downside of the place. Slide the bottom bolt throw the shock eye, and tap the bolt a little with a hammer.
Rotate the bar from left to right, put the bolts on the top side of the shock, and tighten it. Now put the nut on the other side. The springs will absorb the compressions.
